Hello Pradeep, I downloaded the zip file for my Mac from. But when I try to install the 'hdfview_install_maxosx_intel64' file, it gives me the following error message ' 'hdfview_install_maxosx_intel64' is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash'. Can I not install HDF5view on Mac?

External Libraries Used by HDF5. The SZIP and ZLIB external libraries are optional for use with HDF5. The HDF5 pre-compiled binary distributions include the SZIP (Encoder Enabled) and ZLIB libraries that they are compiled with.
If you encounter this error, re-install HDFView using Apple's zip utility. Do this by right-clicking on the zip file and selecting 'Open With -> Archive Utility.app'. Alternatively, use unzip in a Terminal window. (In other words, try running HDFView *without* using InstallAnywhere.) You can get that from here: Go into the appropriate directory (eg. Macintel64/ ) and download hdf-java-2.9-bin.tar.

Once you untar the hdf-java-2.9-bin.tar file, go into the bin/ directory and edit the hdfview.sh script. Make sure that HDFVIEW_HOME and JAVAPATH point to the correct locations. Then run hdfview.sh. I tried unzipping with both Archive Utility and 'unzip' in Terminal. In all cases, I can't launch any of them.
